Mission Ysleta Del Sur

2011 - A late Spring / early Summer trip to the Grand Canyon took me through El Paso. This was the third of three historic operating missions I stopped to visit, actually name Corpus Christi Ysleta Del Sur. Not wanting to create imagery that looks like the standard shot, I ended up shooting the dome with the only clouds in the sky that day. A steep, wide angle that only captured part of the facade. After these clouds floated on, there was nothing but (somehwat) blue sky left. My timing was fortunate again as I didn't see any other inspiring compositions.
