2006 - Shooting one morning on the road and hill towards the Santa Fe ski area in October, I saw these golden leafed aspens being lit by the rising sun from over the hill.  I made a few shots of the tree-tops and thought it would look really cool with a star-burst in the shadow area of the shot.  Later after the capture, I had other photographers critique it and several said that it "didn't work for them", but then, they're not me.  I feel this captures the true moment of decision(ala Bresson) and of the environment when captured.  Unfortunately, it doesn't convey how cold it really was that morning--about 25 degrees.  Brrrrr.
